Friendly, classic, beautiful sushi bar. Highly recommend. Thanks so much. We enjoyed our time here. Owner was there very nice.

This place was soooo amazing! Walking into this spot makes you feel like you've been transported into an authentic cultural experience! My friend and I were able to sit right in front of the sushi bar and made it even better to see them make everything. The servers were very nice and quick to check in on us :) The quality of single piece we ordered was melt in your mouth good! I got the tuna toro, sweet shrimp, eel, yellow tail, and albacore (I know I ordered more but I can't fully remember lol) and they were all *chef's kiss* All in all, I had a great experience and am definitely coming back to try some more!

Wow, wow, wow! This is officially my new favorite sushi spot. Everything was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious. I arrived right when they opened for dinner and was seated immediately. The sushi came out in under five minutes, and the staff, along with the chefs, were super friendly and offered great recommendations if you're unsure what to order. Every dish I tried was fantastic, but the Sweet Shrimp and Eel were on another level--some of the best sushi I've ever had. Such an amazing experience! I'll definitely be back ASAP!

Small Japanese sushi bar Got here 15 min b4 opening Think about 16 spaces at sushi bar Good fish reasonably priced One of the best bang for your buck in Los Angeles Toro, halibut and yellowtail were our favorites

Sushi here is so good... So get ready to spend $$. I came here for lunch with 2 other people and we spent almost $200 for lunch... We ordered a la carte so we kept ordering until we were content. My favorite was the tuna toro, albacore toro, yellow tail, salmon, and spicy tuna handroll. Fish is so fresh and the seaweed for the handroll is I would definitely recommend this place but be weary coming here with an empty stomach

This is my go to spot for sushi. There's no other place I've been so far in LA that tops the freshness and the value of what you get here. So don't tell all your friends about this place because I don't want it to get over-crowded! They're open for lunch and for dinner - it's usually easier to snag a seat when you go alone or for lunch hours. If you line up right around 4:50 you might get lucky and seated for first dinner round. You're handed a sheet of paper to place your order. Some of my favorite off menu items include quail egg with uni and scallop hand rolls. The fish is just really fresh so you can't really go wrong with anything usually. But I usually choose one of each item I want and then order seconds, thirds, or fourths if there's one I really am enjoying that day. the sweet shrimp is always a favorite and the uni was super fresh when we went this past week. a great spot that's semi casual for a date or even a business lunch. we did have a pretty loud guest a few seats over that was a little obnoxious but the sushi chef was still very kind and polite to the guest. that's the only thing that might affect your dining experience if you happen to be seated with someone who isn't respectful. but other than that, I love this place and will keep coming back!

My #1 go to sushi place. Hands down. Unless I feel like just filling myself with sushi, if I want legit sushi, this is the place. Never disappointed. Chefs are so kind and vibe inside is so amazing You might have to wait hr or two, but it is definitely worth the wait Their Mackerel is my favorite too. They have small menu but have exactly what I need. Always thank you guys, and will support this place 100% Please dont change!!

Authentic, delicious, and outstanding. I love Hama Sushi for their fresh seafood, fair prices, and attentive staff. Stepping inside the snug restaurant, you're transported to Japan in the '80s. They even have signs that say "no cell phone use" and the image is a clunky old landline. I would compare the experience to all the best parts of omakase - attentive and vibrant sushi chefs, decadent pieces of sushi, and an intimate experience, with the other parts that I don't care for - like being told when to eat wasabi. I understand that omakase literally means chef's choice and there's beauty in that, but I find this relaxed type of dining more my preference. Highly recommend the uni, the ama ebi (they ask you if you want the shrimp head deep fried or in soup - opt for the fried!!), and the scallop. Everything is fairly priced between $4-$6 per piece which I can't complain about. I love this place so much and even though is small and cramped and there's always a wait, it truly has earned its merits over the years. One of my favorite spots in LA!
